The Real Blue-Gold
Game 0: (2-1)
White (with the starting defense) fell 2-1 in a thriller to the Navy (starting offense)
We got to watch some very competitive soccer as our Top 30 competed against one another for 60 minutes. It was zero-zero at half, and the defense took the 1-0 lead when Reboulet followed Lebourveau's rocket off the post.
A few minutes later though Navy finally cashed one of their umpteen corners with Kitts' service redirected by a Muckerman header for a Swags following. Yep, it was that good.
Not to be outdone, in the final 15, Liam Ryan laced a diagonal ball to the back post for a Jack Ruth full-volley.
Navy did generated 10 corners--so, like the attack. Swags and Lebourveau got off the most shots, 3 apiece and both guys just drill it.
We have to do a better job of finding Ethan, as he was open quite a few times.
Gabe Garcia was a beast at the "6" for white, causing us real build problems early. Barrett, however,, just battled and started attacking the sides where he found space. That changed the attack for Navy.
And in the middle match, the C-Team played the JV who were not playing in the Varsity game to a 0-0 tie. That's huge for the C-Team. Noah Morgan had a noteworthy performance.
